| Golf originated from a game played on the eastern coast of Scotland in the Kingdom of Fife during the 15th century. The Scots were playing golf in its very basic form - take a club, swing it at a ball, move the ball from starting point to finishing hole in as few strokes as possible - at least till the mid-15th century. The game continued to develop in Scotland over time. It was until 1744 when the first-known rules of golf were put down in writing in Edinburgh.
For a recreation club with no golf course, the Golf Section has about 300 members and regularly organizes monthly outings to various golf clubs in Singapore, Malaysia and around Asia.
Incepted in 1994, the Golf Section is celebrating its 10th Anniversary with elements of a charity drive to raise $10,000 for both the Association for Persons with Special Needs and the Lions Home for the Elders.
