MEN'S HOCKEY
One of the oldest competitive sports, field hockey dated back to well before the Ancient Olympic Games. Although the exact origin of the game remain unknown, 4,000-year-old drawings found in the tomb at Beni-Hasen in the Nile Valley of Egypt depicted imageries of men playing a sport similar to hockey. The modern game of field hockey evolved in England around mid-19th century. The British army introduced the game to India and throughout the British colonies, leading to the first International competition in 1895.

SRC Men’s Hockey has a long history in Singapore’s hockey scene, represented by many Olympic and national players from the club. The Men’s Hockey Section actively organizes youth development programs to introduce hockey to schools around Singapore. With teams in the SHF Premier and Under-21 leagues, SRC Men’s Hockey team is regarded as among the top three clubs in Singapore.
