Bridge Graduation Tournament

The time had come. The nerves were frayed. The wrinkled foreheads and anxious looks were obvious to all. One by one, the neophytes walked nervously towards the box and pulled out a card… No, half a card. The deed was done, their fate was sealed. The master who held the other half would lead his apprentice for his initiation into the greater bridge family. Have no fear. You are one of us now. From now on, we will all be your guide.

The Bridge Section held its first"Graduation" Tournament on 1 July. Eight novices who recently completed the Beginner Class were randomly matched with eight experienced players. There was some snacks to “lubricate” their transition and, of course, a very loose interpretation of the bridge laws. The objective was to give the novices a taste of their first competition and welcome them to the regular bridge circuit.

2nd: Zhang Ping & Chum Chan Fai

Tied at 3rd: Chris Wong & Hilda Tay, Yu Chun Yee & Lee Yuet Wah (Experienced player listed first)
