DanceSport Section 13th Anniversary

The DanceSport Section celebrated its 13th Anniversary with an extravagant dancing party! The event was sold out weeks in advance, as members were eager to come for the dancing party of the year, all in anticipation of good food, entertainment and fun.

Indeed they were not disappointed as the evening kicked off with participants dancing to the music from Lynn and the Lovebirds. We enjoyed an 8-course Chinese dinner, while wine and beer flowed throughout the evening. Our DJ spun more music to the enjoyment everyone, which saw all dance enthusiasts on the dance floor.

The crowd was then entertained by a ‘Cha-Chambo’ dance performance by our own DanceSport members! Our six lovely ladies and four stylist gentlemen were greeted by thunderous applause and wolf whistles as they danced to the rhythm of the music. Dancesport Committee members, Anthony Hoe and Tan Cheng Hiong, added to the festivity with their singing and showmanship. To top it off, we had Jack and Aurelia, one of Singapore’s top amateur Latin couples, perform for us the Latin Samba, Rumba and Cha Cha.

The evening of fun culminated with an explosive birthday celebration of exploding confetti and streamers, popping champagne, 13 birthday cakes, roars of approval and dancing all around by everyone. Yes, everyone!

It was the most explosive and enjoyable night that many proclaimed was undoubtedly as exciting as a New Year’s Eve bash. The DanceSport Committee was very pleased with the success of the celebration. More of such fun-filled functions will be expected, of course!
