FLASHBACK
KC Comic Heroes Adventure
Friday, 30 May 2008
Boardroom, 2.30pm to 6.30pm
The first Kids’ Club June holiday activity saw participants as young as 4 years old! The Comic Heroes Adventure workshop was a small class of 10 children but still the energy in the room was overwhelming!
The eager children learnt science through their favourite Super Heroes like Spider Man, Batman and Ironman. They also acquired interesting facts such as spiders are not insects but belong to a family called arachnid, which means spider in Greek. Likewise, they learnt that not all bats are blood-sucking creatures as harmless fruit bats only consume, well fruits! Bats are also blind and they rely on echo to find their way around.
The children also found out about the different kinds of weather elements such as rain, thunder and lighting and how they affect our life. They also tried their hands on different experiments such as raising hairs, the helicopter effect, sound bombs, laser fingers and the rain game to name a few.
The participants really enjoyed the class and left feeling like super heroes!
