Sunday Tea Dance With Adil, Adam, Ben & Chris!
Sunday, 27 July 2008
Lounge 1883, 3pm
Participants of the Sunday Tea Dance got together to enjoy themselves and there were no holds barred as everybody spent the afternoon busying themselves with the dancing, mingling and socialising! We had invited once again the ever-popular group Adam, Ben and Chris, who reunited with their old partner Adil. We also had Baby joining the trio in the afternoon. The great collaboration churned up a wide repertoire of songs that kept the party alive!
Soon after, a handful of the participants were invited to sing and wowed the audience with their talent! Our SRC all-girl group, consisting of May Tan, Betty Lau, Alice Teo, Helen Lim and Ruby Ng, sang a few popular “Chinese Oldies” that many could not resist singing along to. Lynda King then emerged behind the piano as she beautifully played evergreen Malay songs such as Di Tanjong Katong and Rasa Sayang, with the help of some members who sportingly lent their vocals.
Charles Shanmugaraj, also entertained us with two great songs. Of course, these were accompanied by catcalls and wolf whistles. What an interesting spectacle! Not to be outdone, another member, John Joseph, joined in too!
When it was time to wrap up, the party ended with the official anthem of the SRC Tea Dance “I Saw Her Standing There” as the crowd went rapturous!
A big thank you to our dynamic duo – Entertainment Vice-Chairman, Mr Ronald Wee and GM/Secretary, Mr Abdul Rashid, for lending their services by hosting this sold-out event. Also, credit goes to our Entertainment Chairman, Mr Deepak S. Singapuri and the Entertainment Sub-Committee, who made it an afternoon well spent!
